Top 3 Landing Spots for Jarvis Landry

What do an outfit, living room furniture, and rock band have in common? They all have to gel. A few wrong moves and the whole thing becomes a disaster. The same goes for your favorite football team. The roster that they put together is key to their success. Each position needs to be carefully evaluated. And organizations need to put together a team comprised of players that are a great fit for them. On offense defense and special teams.

Jarvis Landry is an incredible receiver. Racking up 7598 yards, 37 touchdowns, and 5 pro bowl selections throughout his career. But he still finds himself on the street looking for work. Landry was released by the Cleveland Browns on March 14th of this year. The Browns however were willing to bring him back on a one-year deal, but Landry was looking for something more long-term and both parties decided to move on. Some teams could use a player like Jarvis Landry. Jarvis doesn’t possess the speed the flash or the game-changing ability that some may find exciting in today’s NFL, but he is fundamentally sound and plays with a level of confidence and passion any NFL fan or organization could appreciate. These are 3 teams that Jarvis Landry could make an immediate impact on.

3. Atlanta Falcons

The Atlanta Falcons seem to be a team in rebuild mode. They traded their franchise quarterback Matt Ryan to the Colts. They lost their star wide receiver, Calvin Ridley, for the season due to illegally betting on NFL games. Whether it’s a newly signed Marcus Mariota or 3-round pick, Desmond Ritter, starting at quarterback. They are going to need more weapons on offense to be able to compete in the NFC South. The Saints, Panthers, and Buccaneers have all made improvements on the offensive side of the football. Adding Jarvis Landry would improve the Falcons’ offense. The young duo of Kyle Pitts and first-round pick wide receiver Drake London could use Jarvis’s leadership and playmaking ability.

2. Baltimore Ravens

Do not know why the Ravens decided to trade speedy receiver Hollywood Brown to the Arizona Cardinals. The only reason I could come up with is maybe his skill set being more of a deep threat clashed with the offense that the Ravens run. The run-pass option. Quarterback Lamar Jackson is a master at running this offense, and Tight End Mark Andrews has become a star in the process. The short passing game would be right up Landry’s alley. He has done most of his damage throughout his career in the slot and within 5 to 10 yards. His ability to get yards after the catch would be a great asset for the Ravens

1. New Orleans Saints

Ok. Do the Saints need a guy like Jarvis Landry now the way they needed him pre NFL Draft? The answer to that question is no. But the Saints could use his skill set and leadership. The Saints no longer have the offensive guru Sean Payton as their head coach, Jameis Winston is coming off a season-ending ACL injury, and All-Pro Receiver Michael Thomas hasn’t taken a snap in nearly two years. The Saints did move up in the draft to acquire Ohio State standout receiver Chris Olave. Adding Landry to the wide receiver group could help a guy like Olave not feel so much pressure his rookie year. Also, he could be a great player that could step up if something (knock on wood) were to happen to Thomas again. Landry’s skills as a slot receiver would make the Saints’ offense more efficient. Especially on 3rd down. The Saints were at the bottom of the league when it came to 3rd down conversions. Also, Landry is a Louisiana native and played college football at LSU which I am sure most Saints would enjoy seeing the former “Bayou Bengal” in a Saints uniform.

No matter where Jarvis Landry ends up I’m sure he will do great. But these three teams I feel would allow him to fully utilize his abilities.
