In his second season in the league, David Montgomery has turned into a “fantasy stud.” Not only is he pouring in fantasy points like it’s nothing, he’s also carrying the Chicago Bears into a Playoff Push. Just one game back from the Arizona Cardinals for the final spot in the NFC Wild Card race, the Bears have been rolling on offense as of late thanks to Montgomery’s outstanding play.

Fantasy Stud: If you are in the Fantasy Football Finals next week, congratulations. If you have Montgomery on your team, there is no way you even think about sitting him. He just might bring you a championship trophy. In the last four weeks, the Bears’ bruiser has averaged 26.53 PPR points per game, which is the most by any running back in the league in that span. Yes, he has scored more than Derrick Henry, Dalvin Cook and Alvin Kamara in the last four weeks.

Carrying the Bears: Through the first 11 weeks of the season, Montgomery only had 472 rushing yards on 131 carries (3.6 YPC) and one touchdown. In his last four games alone, he has accumulated 434 yards rushing on 71 carries (6.1 YPC) and five touchdowns. He has also caught 13 passes for 137 yards and a touchdown in that span as well. During his hot streak, the Bears’ offense has been one of the most explosive in the league. They are averaging 31 points per game and 387.8 offensive yards per game since week 12. Without Montgomery’s tremendous play, it’s hard to imagine Chicago doing anything similar in that stretch.

Montgomery’s Future: After this season, the Bears’ running back will be entering his third year in the league. He should become a first round selection in most fantasy leagues’ drafts in 2021. He also serves as a promising piece for Chicago’s offense. Even though the Bears need to answer a lot of questions on the offensive side of the ball this offseason, Montgomery will be back as one of the leaders for this team. Don’t be surprised if he ‘takes the bull by the horns’ and carries your fantasy team(s) again next season.
