After a summer of scouting the top prospects in the 2022 NFL Draft class, the time has come to compile my quarterback rankings and my top 20 big board ahead of the 2021 college football season that starts this Saturday. These rankings will change significantly with a full season left to be played, but the purpose of this exercise is to provide insight on how I view these prospects heading into their final season. Without further ado, here are the ten quarterbacks I scouted this summer, ranked:

  1. Spencer Rattler, Oklahoma
  2. Sam Howell, North Carolina
  3. Kedon Slovis, USC
  4. Carson Strong, Nevada
  5. Grayson McCall, Coastal Carolina
  6. Tyler Shough, Texas Tech
  7. Matt Corral, Ole Miss
  8. Malik Willis, Liberty
  9. Desmond Ridder, Cincinnati
  10. J.T. Daniels, Georgia

To hear me justify and explain each of these quarterbacks’ ranking, tune into Alex Greb and I’s quarterback ranking breakdown episode from our Bold Take Scouting platform: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_7MB9b19fko

Here is my top 20 big board, with all positions combined:

  1. Kayvon Thibodeaux, DE, Oregon
  2. Derek Stingley, CB, LSU
  3. Spencer Rattler, QB, Oklahoma
  4. Sam Howell, QB, North Carolina
  5. Evan Neal, OT, Alabama
  6. Christian Harris, LB, Alabama
  7. Jalen Wydermyer, TE, Texas A&M
  8. Kyle Hamilton, S, Notre Dame
  9. Kenyon Green, OG, Texas A&M
  10. Treylon Burks, WR, Arkansas
  11. Garrett Wilson, WR, Ohio State
  12. John Metchie, WR, Alabama
  13. Kaiir Elam, CB, Florida
  14. Chris Olave, WR, Ohio State
  15. Ahmad Gardner, CB, Cincinnati
  16. Myjai Sanders, DE, Cinicinnati
  17. Breece Hall, RB, Iowa State
  18. Kedon Slovis, QB, USC
  19. Carson Strong, QB, Nevada
  20. George Karlaftis, DE, Purdue

While there are a large handful of prospects with first round buzz that did not make the cut (such as DeMarvin Leal, Drake Jackson, Sevyn Banks, Isaiah Spiller, George Pickens, Justyn Ross, and more), keep in mind that there are some players I have not yet scouted and were thus not under consideration for this big board (such as Tyler Linderbaum and Andre Booth). To hear my analysis and explanation of my big board, listen to our top 20 big board breakdown episode: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CQGQpLs2NMY

These rankings represent a whole summer of hard work spent grinding the tape of all of these players, so I would greatly appreciate it if you could give this article a share and listen to these two podcast episodes!
