Strengths
Jordan Addison possesses good athletic ability, long-range speed, and outstanding cutting ability. A strong route runner is smooth in and out of his breaks and will manipulate defenders. He accelerates well and can reach top-level speed quickly, allowing him to create separation. He can pluck the ball out of the air and has the play strength to hold on to the ball while surviving big hits. Is great when the ball is in his hands and can be effective on screens and jet sweeps. Addison’s biggest strength is his physical style of play. He consistently breaks tackles, fights for yardage after contact, and is aggressive against press.
Weaknesses
Addison’s hands are a concern. He does not consistently use his hands to secure deep throws, allows the ball to go into his pads and chest, and dropped 10-plus passes in his first two seasons. A skinny frame can add more strength to prevent getting pushed around by bigger corners. He has done most of his damage in his three collegiate seasons. That’s not to say he can’t win outside, but we just haven’t seen it at the college level, and it will be a concern for NFL GMs.
Overview
Addison has been mocked in the 2023 NFL Draft all around the first round. While some believe he could be a sneaky first-round pick, others see him going in the 20s.
