STRENGTHS: Bailey Zappe is the all-time passing touchdown leader in the FBS for a reason. He shows good play recognition by identifying coverage and attacking the weak spots, such as throwing in the seams in a Cover 2 deep zone defense with velocity for his receiver to gain more yardage. His arm strength is above average, as he throws deep passes to his receivers in stride for touchdowns or accurately near the sideline where only his receiver can make the catch. Zappe has the athletic ability to move in the pocket and run for more yardage and extend plays. He is not an elite athlete but can gain yardage with his feet. He has shown the ability to manipulate defenders in coverage by pump-faking, looking the safety off, moving defenders with his eyes, and resetting quickly to make correct throws. His pre-snap reads are impressive, as he identifies coverages and can motion his receivers to a better position to win one-on-one matchups.

AREAS OF IMPROVEMENT: The level of competition will be determined if Zappe can throw against tighter coverage and better athletes. However, when facing better talent, his numbers did not drop in college. He will throw into double coverage at times, believing in his arm too much. Zappe has to get better with intermediate passes and show more touch.
