Here’s the fun part about fantasy football. No matter what your record shows, you can easily turn your team into a championship roster. We’ve had a WILD first three weeks of the season, and it’s only going to get crazier. For those of you riddled by injuries, pay close attention to the five players listed below. Even if you have a nice roster so far, there’s always room for more depth and consistency from your bench. If you don’t know who to start weekly because your roster is loaded, THAT’S A GOOD THING! Keep in mind, each player listed is rostered in less than 50 percent of ESPN leagues. As always, happy fantasying.

TE) Dalton Schultz – Dallas Cowboys (2.3% owned)

Cowboys player profile: Dalton Schultz proved he's more than a run-first blocking tight end - Blogging The Boys

TEs are always a need when you don’t have one of the top-tier ones on your roster already. Schultz turned in a monster Week 3 performance, as he hauled in an impressive six receptions for 80 yards and two touchdowns. His effort was good enough to land him as the Week 3 TE1. TEs are hard to find at this point in the season. You don’t need to start the young TE each week, but he could serve as a solid streaming option the rest of the way. Two matchups against the Panthers and Giants in the next couple of weeks make Schultz an enticing TE to grab in waivers. If he passes through, he’s a “must add” in most fantasy leagues.

RB) Chuba Hubbard – Carolina Panthers (11.3% owned)

Christian McCaffrey is set to miss several weeks, but he isn’t expected to land on the IR. While he’s away, Hubbard will do his best CMC impersonation. Once the consensus first overall fantasy pick went down, the rookie RB filled in nicely. He finished Week 3 with 11 carries for 52 yards while also hauling in three receptions for 27 yards. Expect Carolina to utilize Hubbard both in the running and receiving game the next couple of weeks. Surely, he won’t receive the bulk of opportunities that McCaffrey usually gets, but he should be a solid flex option for your team for at least two weeks. He has a couple of great fantasy matchups against the Cowboys and Eagles in Weeks 4 and 5.

RB) Giovani Bernard – Tampa Bay Buccaneers (11.9% owned)

B/R Gridiron on Twitter: "Giovani Bernard. My goodness 😳 (via @ToriRichman, @Buccaneers)… "

If you’re in a PPR league, Bernard is someone you want to target heavily with one of your waiver claims. We finally saw him break out in a big way in Week 3, as he accumulated 20.1 PPR points as Week 3’s RB11. With Ronald Jones nearly out of the Buccaneer’s offensive gameplan (15 carries for 52 yards in three games), Bernard has seen a lot more time on the field. In three games, he has been a great dump-off weapon for Brady, as he’s compiled 13 receptions for 79 yards and one touchdown this season. In Week 3 alone, he hauled in nine receptions for 51 yards and one touchdown. Although he takes on a tough Patriots defense in Week 4, he’s still a solid RB to target in waivers for depth purposes.

WR) Tim Patrick – Denver Broncos (14% owned)

Tim Patrick's perseverance has Broncos wideout primed to break out

Patrick may be one of the most underrated fantasy WRs in today’s game. Jerry Jeudy will miss most of the season, and the fourth-year pro has taken over as Denver’s WR2 behind Courtland Sutton. KJ Hamler was expected to see more time with Jeudy sidelined, but he suffered a torn ACL (out for the season) in Denver’s Week 3 win over the Jets. Now that the WR position is thin for Denver, expect a lot more from Patrick in fantasy. Through three weeks, he’s serving as the WR31, and he has yet to fall short of 12 PPR points. His stats speak for themselves, as he’s accumulated 12 receptions for 174 yards and two touchdowns entering Week 4. Patrick is a solid player to target with one of your waiver claims this week if you need more from your WR position.

WR) Christian Kirk – Arizona Cardinals (22.4% owned)

NFL Bets: Sunday 6th December – The Sportcodex

If you lack depth at WR, Kirk could solidify that spot for you. Through three weeks, he’s serving as the WR15, and he’s coming off a performance where he snatched seven receptions for 104 yards, good enough for 17.4 PPR points. Kyler Murray and the Cardinals have been on fire on offense, and Kirk has played a huge role in that. He has surpassed 17 PPR points twice in three games, and in Week 2, he impressed although he only scored 9.5 points (three receptions for 65 yards). Arizona’s next three matchups feature the Rams, 49ers, and Browns. He will more than likely draw those team’s second or third best CB, which will benefit him and his fantasy stock tremendously. This may be the last week you can add Kirk to your roster. So if you want him, you have to use a waiver claim to go get him.
