Part two of the four-part series features players that will typically land between the fifth and seventh rounds of your fantasy drafts. The players selected around these spots in the draft really define the depth of you teams. Here are the 25 players that could make or break your fantasy teams this season. 100-76
75) Marvin Jones (WR) – Detroit Lions
Jones was overshadowed by his teammate, Kenny Golladay, last season as he watched him lead the league in receiving touchdowns with 11. What most people do not realize is that Jones, himself, was tied for third in the league with 9 of his own. Expect the 30-year-old receiver to be a big red zone target once again this season.
74) Stefon Diggs (WR) – Buffalo Bills
Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills needed a receiver like Diggs in their offense. They haven’t had a receiver catch at least 80 passes since 2010 when Steve Johnson did so. The 26-year-old has accomplished this twice in his five-year career, and he could be a huge big-play target for Allen and the Bills. Expect a lot of targets to go Diggs’ way this season.
73) D’Andre Swift (RB) – Detroit Lions
The rookie running back out of Georgia will battle third-year-pro Kerryon Johnson for the starting running back spot. Expect both players to be very productive this season. Swift is an explosive back that has a lot of versatility. He should be used as a third-down running back who sees a lot of receiving targets out of the backfield.
72) Ronald Jones Jr. (RB) – Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Jones Jr. was a prime candidate to have a breakout season this year, but Tampa Bay went out and drafted Ke’Shawn Vaughn and signed LeSean McCoy. Expect Jones Jr. to still be the most productive back for the Buccaneers. The third-year-pro will receive a lot of touches, and he should put up a good amount of receiving yards this season.
71) Cam Akers (RB) – Los Angeles Rams
With Gurley now gone, the Rams drafted Akers in the second round of the draft to help fill the hole at the running back position. The rookie running back didn’t put up the greatest stats in college, but he was running behind a poor offensive line. Expect Akers to be a huge piece of the Rams offense this season.
70) Jonathan Taylor (RB) – Indianapolis Colts
Taylor absolutely dominated in college. In his three seasons playing for the Wisconsin Badgers, he produced 6,174 rushing yards and 55 total touchdowns. He will split touches with Marlon Mack, but he surely will be used a lot for Indianapolis.
69) Terry McLaurin (WR) – Washington Football Team
The second-year-pro is looking to continue where he left off last season. In 14 games, McLaurin caught 58 passes for 919 yards and 7 touchdowns. Expect his sophomore year to be even better. McLaurin is the best receiving option on his team, and he is going to improve.
68) Kerryon Johnson (RB) – Detroit Lions
Johnson has had an injury-riddled career so far in his two seasons as a pro. When healthy, he is very productive. The 23-year-old has averaged a career 4.5 yards per carry, and he has proved that he can be a reliable target out of the backfield. Expect Johnson and Swift to bring a strong one-two punch for Detroit this season.
67) Jared Cook (TE) – New Orleans Saints
The veteran tight end looks to put up another impressive season as Drew Brees’ second favorite target. Cook and Brees took a while to find their spark last season, but when they did, they were hard to stop. Cook should be a huge red zone threat for New Orleans this season.
66) Tyler Lockett (WR) – Seattle Seahawks
Lockett had an excellent season last year as Seattle’s top wide receiver. He finished with 82 receptions for 1,057 yards and 8 touchdowns. Expect his teammate, DK Metcalf, to put up more fantasy points than him this season. Lockett should still put up big numbers as Seattle’s top deep threat target.
65) Sony Michel (RB) – New England Patriots
The 25-year-old will be used a ton this season as Cam Newton will be his new quarterback. What hurts Michel is the fact that James White is still on the same team. Michel will receive most of the carries while he watches White catch most of the passes out of the backfield. Expect Michel to surpass 1,000 rushing yards for the first time in his young career.
64) T.Y. Hilton (WR) – Indianapolis Colts
Hilton is now 30 years old and out of his prime. He has his third different quarterback in the last three years, and he has battled injuries during that time. On the other hand, he has been very efficient when playing. Expect Hilton to be a lot healthier this season while also being Indianapolis’ leading receiver in every receiving category.
63) Josh Allen (QB) – Buffalo Bills
Allen isn’t known as the quarterback who will fill the stat sheet passing the ball. He rushes for a lot of yards, and this brings a lot of fantasy value towards him. He has topped 500 rushing yards in each of his first two seasons. Expect the addition of Stefon Diggs to help Allen progress into more than a typical mobile quarterback. Allen should put up a lot more passing yards this season while also adding a substantial amount of rushing yards as well.
62) Carson Wentz (QB) – Philadelphia Eagles
Wentz has added muscle going into year five as a pro. The former second overall pick of the 2016 NFL Draft will have a healthier receiving crew to throw to this season. Fun fact: Wentz is the only quarterback in NFL history to throw for more than 95 touchdowns while throwing fewer than 35 interceptions in their first 54 games.
61) Matt Ryan (QB) – Atlanta Falcons
Ryan has passed for more than 4,000 yards nine seasons in a row. The former MVP has more weapons than ever with an offense that features Julio Jones, Calvin Ridley, Hayden Hurst and Todd Gurley. Ryan will fit in nicely as an every week starter for your fantasy teams.
60) Tyler Higbee (TE) – Los Angeles Rams
Expect Higbee to earn his first pro bowl selection this season. He finished last season on fire, and he should continue to succeed this season as one of Goff’s favorite targets. The 27-year-old has a great chance to be a top five tight end this season in fantasy.
59) Robert Woods (WR) – Los Angeles Rams
After a disappointing first five seasons in the league, Woods has established himself as a very effective wide receiver the past two years. He has topped 1,000 yards in each of the 2018 and 2019 seasons.
58) Le’Veon Bell (RB) – New York Jets
After his worst season as a pro, Bell looks to bounce back in a big way. Expect the 28-year-old to be the main piece in New York’s offense this season. He comes into the season in tremendous shape while using midnight boxing workouts as a part of his training.
57) DK Metcalf (WR) – Seattle Seahawks
Expect the second-year-pro to emerge as Russell Wilson’s top receiving target this season. Metcalf is a lean 229 pounds at six foot, four inches. He should take a big jump this season while producing Pro Bowl-like numbers.
56) Devin Singletary (RB) – Buffalo Bills
After an impressive rookie season where he rushed for 775 yards and two touchdowns, while also adding 194 receiving yards and two touchdowns, Singletary looks to take the next step. The second-year-pro also averaged 5.1 yards per carry last season. Imagine how productive he will be now that he will no longer have to split carries with ancient Frank Gore.
55) A.J. Green (WR) – Cincinnati Bengals
Injuries have haunted Green the past few years, and he is finally fully healthy going into the 2020 season. Expect rookie Joe Burrow to count on Green a lot this year. The 32-year-old will have something to prove this season as he seems like a forgotten man these days.
54) Mark Ingram (RB) – Baltimore Ravens
Baltimore added J.K. Dobbins, complementing Ingram nicely in the Ravens’ offense. According to Ingram himself, he thinks his tenth season in the league will be his best yet. Expect the 30-year-old to receive most of the carries while Dobbins carries the load as a receiving third-down back.
53) Marquis Brown (WR) – Baltimore Ravens
There were times last season where fans saw the true potential of “Holywood” Brown. The second-year-pro finished his rookie campaign as the second leading receiver on the team behind pro bowl tight end, Mark Andrews. Brown is a prime candidate to make a huge leap in year two of his young NFL career.
52) Miles Sanders (RB) – Philadelphia Eagles
Sanders is a great fantasy running back because he catches a lot of balls to add to his impressive rushing statistics. Although on paper, he looks like a potential top 25 pick in your fantasy leagues, the 23-year-old lacks the great speed and elusiveness for a breakout season. He should see plenty of touches, but the offense will be heavily focused on Wentz and the passing game.
51) David Montgomery (RB) – Chicago Bears
The second-year-pro should show improvement this season as the Bears lead back. Although Montgomery only produced a 3.7 yards per carry average, he tied for third in the league with 28 broken tackles last season. Expect a stronger and faster Montgomery as he comes into this season weighing 222 pounds with 8% body fat.
