Well, it happened, the Las Vegas Raiders lost to the Indianapolis Colts. A team that replaced their Head Coach last week, with a former player that had no coaching experience besides high school. A team that seemed to be tanking for a high draft pick. The surprise that caught many people off guard was when the Colts announced Matt Ryan would be their starting quarterback right before kickoff.
#Colts coach Jeff Saturday said at his first press conference that Sam Ehlinger was his starting QB. Nope. Officially, it’s back to Matt Ryan.

The Raiders just looked flat from the beginning of the game. They had the opportunity to win it in the end, but that was not meant to be. The Raiders now drop to 2-7 and are still looking for answers. After the game on Sunday, an emotional Derek Carr was at the podium pouring his heart out, and even at times got emotional about the situation the club finds itself in. “I’m just pissed off about some of the things, you know, that a lot of us try and do just to practice,” Carr said. “What we put our bodies through, just to sleep at night…For that to be the result of all that effort, pisses me off.”

Carr also seemed to call out some teammates for not caring as much as he does. “I love the Silver and Black and I’m going to give it everything I can every time I go out there, and I can’t speak for everybody, for every man, what’s going on in their head, but I can tell you what’s going on in my head and I’m going to give it all that I can, every single time.” One would think that after this horrible start Head Coach, Josh McDaniels’ job might be in jeopardy, but Raiders Owner Mark Davis gave his vote of confidence when asked about McDaniel’s job status, “As far as Josh goes, I have no issues,” Davis told the Las Vegas Review-Journal on Monday. “I’m getting to know him a lot better. When you sign someone to a contract, don’t you expect him to fulfill the contract?”

This Sunday the Raiders travel to Denver to play the Broncos. This will be the first time since being fired from the Broncos that he returns as a Head Coach of a team. The Broncos are also having a very disappointing season after trading for quarterback Russell Wilson in the offseason. I am hoping to see a Raiders team that still has a fight in them and is not ready to give up on the season. This team has too much talent to have a 2-7 record. Will the Raiders’ struggles continue? Can the Raiders turn the season around? All it takes is one win.
