We’ve made it! The 2022 NFL Draft is officially in the books. There were some surprising moves this year. Some players fell (*cough cough Malik Willis). Some players were surprisingly drafted higher than expected (Jahan Dotson). And some players landed in great situations. The final rookie mock draft features five rounds. Underneath each name in the first two rounds also includes a future prediction for dynasty purposes. Let’s get ready for your dynasty rookie drafts together, and let me know what you think. Round 1

2022 NFL draft: 6 takeaways from New York Jets picking Breece Hall

1.01 RB) Breece Hall – New York Jets

  • Beats Michael Carter Jr. out right away to serve as the RB1 for the Jets 

1.02 WR) Drake London – Atlanta Falcons

  • WR1 for the Falcons alongside Kyle Pitts until Calvin Ridley returns in 2023

1.03 WR) Garrett Wilson – New York Jets

  • WR2 to start the season but eventually takes over WR1 duties over Corey Davis and Elijah Moore at some point

1.04 WR) Treylon Burks – Tennessee Titans

  • WR2 behind Robert Woods but surefire future WR1 for this team

1.05 RB) Kenneth Walker III – Seattle Seahawks

  • RB2 behind Rashaad Penny to start the season but serves as the RB1 for the 2022 season ends

1.06 WR) Jameson Williams – Detroit Lions

  • Overtakes Amon-Ra St. Brown as the team’s WR1 before the end of 2022

1.07 WR) Chris Olave – New Orleans Saints

  • Starts alongside Michael Thomas in Year 1 and serves as WR2 for this team for the next couple of years

1.08 WR) Christian Watson – Green Bay Packers

  • Carves out a starting role in Year 1 and eventually becomes Aaron Rodgers’ second-best pass-catcher on the team

1.09 WR) Jahan Dotson – Washington Commanders

  • Sees less production than both Terry McLaurin and Curtis Samuel in Year 1 but replaces McLaurin as the WR1 after McLaurin’s contract expires

1.10 WR) Skyy Moore – Kansas City Chiefs

  • Starts the season behind Mecole Hardman, JuJu Smith-Schuster, and Marquez Valdes-Scantling on the depth chart but eventually starts in Year 2

1.11 RB) James Cook – Buffalo Bills

  • Leads all Bills running backs in receptions during his rookie season but sees less volume than Devin Singletary for now

1.12 WR) George Pickens – Pittsburgh Steelers

  • See the field more than rookie receiver Calvin Austin III but hauls in fewer passes than both Diontae Johnson and Chase Claypool this season

 

Round 2

2.01 WR) John Metchie III – Houston Texans

  • Competes with Nico Collins for the WR2 spot behind Brandin Cooks and eventually turns into a WR1 for this team in the future

2.02 QB) Kenny Pickett – Pittsburgh Steelers

  • Serves as Mitchell Trubisky’s backup to start the season and overtakes the starting gig before his rookie campaign ends

2.03 RB) Rachaad White – Tampa Bay Buccaneers

  • Leonard Fournette’s future replacement, a solid backup who carves out a receiving role during rookie season

2.04 WR) Alec Pierce – Indianapolis Colts

  • Competes with Parris Campbell as the team’s WR2 behind Michael Pittman Jr. right away

2.05 RB) Dameon Pierce – Houston Texans

  • Eventual starter for Houston who serves as a backup for most of his rookie season behind Marlon Mack

2.06 WR) David Bell – Cleveland Browns

  • WR2/3 during rookie season behind Amari Cooper in an offense that will struggle to pass the ball while Deshaun Watson is suspended

2.07 WR) Wan’Dale Robinson – New York Giants

  • Eventual WR2/3 that should take a bit to blossom behind Kenny Golladay, Sterling Shepard, Darius Slayton, and Kadarius Toney

2.08 TE) Trey McBride – Arizona Cardinals 

  • Arizona’s TE2 but sees decent production as a backup until the team moves Ertz in the next couple of years

2.09 WR) Jalen Tolbert – Dallas Cowboys

  • Starts the season as Dallas’ WR4 behind CeeDee Lamb, Michael Gallup, and James Washington but eventually becomes a solid WR3 for this team

2.10 RB) Isaiah Spiller – Los Angeles Chargers

  • Competes with Joshua Kelley and Larry Roundtree for the RB2 spot to start the season but eventually takes over surefire RB2 duties behind Austin Ekeler 

2.11 RB) Brian Robinson – Washington Commanders

  • Sees less production than Antonio Gibson and J.D. McKissic in 2022 but beats out Jaret Patterson for the RB3 role

2.12 RB) Zamir White – Las Vegas Raiders

  • Receives more touches than Kenyan Drake in Year 1 and eventually replaces Josh Jacobs when Vegas decides to move on
